Free Iranian House

Project

Residential house

Location

A rural area in Siahkal, Gilan

History

October 1404

Azadeh House was designed for a young couple who intended to choose it as their main home after completion. The house is located in a lush village in Gilan; somewhere between fog, rain, and the smell of endless rice fields. The project site is located next to a vast rice field that offers a peaceful and deep view in front of the house — and this view was the main inspiration for the design.
During the design process, I decided that the house would be in full interaction with the nature around it; therefore, visual transparency was increased as much as possible, and the house was opened not to the inside, but to the outside and the landscapes of Gilan. This transparency at the border between inside and outside blurs the boundary between life and nature so that the residents live in a constant connection with the environment.
The house, with a substructure of 120 square meters, includes two bedrooms, one of which is designed as a master. Despite the limited area, I tried to revive dead spaces and turn them into living and dynamic volumes by carefully designing functional spaces.
Along this path, shelves, cabinets, and built-in spaces played an important role in interior organization to ensure simplicity, functionality, and order flow throughout the home.
